While traditional diesel and petrol models still dominate the Top 50 Ranking, new EVs are steadily rising as the industry shifts toward electrification. However, brands like BYD and Tesla faced challenges, with sales slowing due to charging infrastructure gaps and global supply chain issues.
Looking at YTD data up to October 2025, the Toyota RAV4 -up 2 spots- was the new market leader (+0.6%). The Toyota Corolla -up 1 spot- followed in 2nd (-8.1%).
The Tesla Model Y -down 2 spots- ranked 3rd (-12.7%), followed by the Ford F-Series in 4th (+10.7%).
The Honda CR-V ranked 5th while the Chevrolet Silverado followed in 6th (+1.5%) and the Hyundai Tucson in 7th (+3.7%).
The Toyota Camry ranked 8th (+9.7%) ahead of the Toyota Hilux in 9th (+0.3%) and the Kia Sportage which closed the Top 10 (-0.5%).
The Geely Xingyuan in 14th was also notably a standout model, climbing 2,289 spots and confirming the brand’s momentum.
EV Market Trend and Outlook
The Geely Xingyuan eyes top spot, seeking to overtake Tesla. The EV sector in 2025 showed a trend of expansion, surging 16.2% up to October 2025 and to a 16% share of the total.
The Tesla Model Y retained the leadership despite losing 12.7% while the Tesla Model 3 in 2nd dropped 6.5%. The Geely Xingyuan showed outstanding growth, up 587 spots into 3rd while the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV also showed notable gains (+85.3%).
